Father John O'Sullivan, Archdeacon, Parish Priest of Kenmare, and Vicar-General of the Diocese of Kerry, was a fierce defender and advocate of the poor, especially during the Irish Potato Famine, making trips to England to move those with power and money to rectify the human devastation, for which the exploitation by English colonization was partly responsible.
