Joan Namkoong

Joan Namkoong, born and raised in Hawaii, is the daughter of Korean immigrants. She graduated from Kailua High School and the University of Washington. Following a successful career in journalism, she became a freelance writer and now has several books in print including "Go Home Cook Rice," "Family Traditions in Hawaii," and the new "Food Lover's Guide to Honolulu." Joan is Honolulu's favorite foodie, intersted in and expert on all things food related.
