James Dalessandro
James Dalessandro was born in Cleveland and educated at Ohio University and UCLA Film School. In 1973, he founded the legendary Santa Cruz Poetry Festival, along with Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Ken Kesey, Allen Ginsberg and Michael McClure. He is writer/director/producer of the award-winning documentary film, THE DAMNEDEST, FINEST RUINS. His books include CANARY IN A COAL MINE, (poetry); BOHEMIAN HEART, (a San Francisco noir mystery novel); 1906, a best selling novel that re-creates San Francisco during the great earthquake and fire, and CITIZEN JANE, the true story of a woman who spent 13 years tracking down and putting away the murderer of her 88-year old aunt.
