Charles Chernor Jalloh is Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Charles Chernor Jalloh is Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. A member of the Ontario Bar, he was a Legal Counsel in the Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes Section, Canadian Department of Justice; Associate Legal Officer in the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda; and the Legal Advisor to the Office of the Principal Defender, Special Court for Sierra Leone, where he also served as court-appointed interim counsel to former Liberian President Charles Taylor in 2007. He is active in the international criminal bar serving, inter alia, on the Advisory Panel to the President of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia; on the Advisory Board of the War Crimes Committee, International Bar Association; as an elected Co-Chair of the American Society of International Law's International Criminal Law Interest Group; and as a Fellow of the Sierra Leone Institute of International Law. Professor Jalloh, who has published widely on issues of international criminal justice especially as they pertain to Africa, is editor of Consolidated Legal Texts for the Special Court for Sierra Leone (2007) and the lead editor of the first comprehensive multi-volume Law Reports of the Special Court for Sierra Leone (2012).
