Brian Cobb was born and educated in Ipswich during the 1930s and was one of the many children evacuated to Leicestershire during the Second World War. His working life began as an apprentice trolleybus fitter but he has enjoyed many other occupations, including working for Powers Samas as an accounting machine engineer, Defence Contract Administration with Marconi Radar, and as a courier for American service personnel on British and foreign tours. His enthusiasm for transport has led to trips to Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, as well as to Eastern Europe and Russia. He began to write upon retirement and has published two books relating to trolleybuses. A further two books which celebrate the 50 years of the Ipswich Motorbus were likewise published. See less
