Ananda K. Coomaraswamy (1877-1947) was a philosopher, historian and a patron of Indian art and culture. He introduced the essence of ancient Indian art and its principles to the Western world through a number of books and articles. His life's work was dedicated to metaphysics and symbolism, and he is regarded as one of the founders of the Perennialism movement.
