He is also creator and host of the web-series and podcast Crazy Sexy Geeks (where he interviews authors, artists, and cultural icons like Rob Zombie, Edward James Olmos, the American Gladiators, Jane Espenson, and Tim Gunn), and the author of two comic trivia books, The Unofficial Batman and Unofficial Spiderman Trivia Challenge (Adams Media, 2012). Alan is frequently invited to speak at panels and conferences, and has in the past hosted discussions on the psychology of superheroes with forensic psychiatrists, been consulted by Sony Online Entertainment, and appeared in four separate comic book documentaries produced by Warner Bros. Home Video (on which he was also hired to consult). He has also spoken at the Paley Center for Media about the evolution of science fiction dramas, including Dr. Who, and the history of vampire fiction.
