Jack, and eventually Marvin, finally find that his redemption, hopes, and dreams, respectively, are actualized through the faith first nurtured by the institution of the church that they originally shunned. Although these prodigal sons make their way through very different, often tortured routes, they discover that they can attain satisfaction and peace in their lives and loves.
