Although you don't need to read this series in order, it is a good idea to start with this one which was the first. I like the later books more, but this is a great start to get hooked on J.A. Jance.

ludicrous
An experienced homicide detective investigates a murder and simultaneously begins a passionate affair with a woman who attended the funeral, without ever imagining that this could be a conflict of interest. This book is just ludicrous and it's very badly written.

Great Mystery
The J.P Beaumont series by J.A. Jance are so much fun. Jance puts you right in Seattle and you are rooting for J.P to find the killer/s.
Since this first book of the series I have been hooked.
