I like historical fiction and this one takes the reader back to the early 1900's when London was experiencing upheavals from the labor Unions. The main character of the story is a disgruntled US CIA agent who is searching for the person who set off a bomb in the US and killed his brother and girlfriend. It is a weird premise that this CIA agent would get involved in the Union activities in London to try to solve his personal grievances. Also, this character is the opposite of James Bond; he seems overweight, clumsy, and generally sour, but every now and then comes off as very smooth. I struggled along in the book until the last few chapters when it became very interesting. There is a surprise ending.
