Rather than go straight to the gritty source, Tiny Town recycles their sound from better (and past) practitioners of the genre. There are Band-type shuffles, Creedence-esque swamp crawls and enough '90s twang to keep it real, but the glossy coating -- provided by producer and Eagles' founder Bernie Leadon -- takes something away from the core of the music. And it is the music that drives this self-titled debut (as would be expected from a gang of professionals).
