The more books I read by Gilbert Morris, the more impressed I am. He's written over 70 books. I've read maybe 10 of them, and I've never been disappointed. All of his stories are fresh, well-written, and interesting. He creates characters that you either love or hate and a story that moves along at a good pace. He can take an overdone plotline that you'd see in a soap opera and write it so that you actually care what happens to the character. There is a lot of action, mystery and humour in this story. Morris also knows how to wrap up a story so all your questions are answered.
This one is about a man with amnesia who has also been badly burned. You learn the clues to his identity as he slowly becomes aware of the world around him. The amnesia victim is the one telling the story so you only know what he knows. The mystery is that the police think he is a murderer on the run, who doesn't want to be found. Morris writes so that you actually care to learn if he has a past and a future. As he finds his family, you are torn, because along the way to finding himself, he has begun to fall in love with the lawyer who has been helping him.
