Excerpt from The Watters Family HE facts herein presented have been gathered by a somewhat extended research among the volumes of the great libraries of Chicago, Washington, D. C., Baltimore, Annapolis and elsewhere; from old letters in possession of the family; from. Relatives, and from other sources. The research has continued through many years, and during the year of 1911 several months were given to special investigation, and a trip made across the continent to the historic ground in Harford County, Maryland, where our ancestors made their pioneer home on coming to America. The results, although gratifying, are not what they might be were the research continued a reasonable time without hindrance. The discovery of old deeds, wills, land patents, court records, church records and tombstones have brought to light many interesting facts of the family. The gathering of these facts about ancestors long since departed has kindled the heart of the compiler with a new, sweet love for kindred, and the one fond hope entertained is that the eyes of the younger generations of the Watters family falling upon these lines may find incentive to honor their ancestors by a noble life endeavor for the betterment of humanity.
