A 26-track compilation of Duke sides from Bland's peak decade (1959-1969). MCA's two-volume The Duke Recordings covers this period in greater depth, and will be more readily available to most North American consumers. On its own terms, though, it's an excellent collection. Contains most of his biggest R&B hits ("Turn On Your Love Light," "Stormy Monday Blues," "Call On Me," "Ain't Nothing You Can Do"), as well as some cuts that didn't make it onto The Duke Recordings. ~ Richie Unterberger, Rovi
