Allen, Jr's decorative bookplate tipped in, thus near fine in a near fine dustwrapper with chip on spine head and sticker offsetting on rear panel. Mr. Allen is a member of the Department of History, Colorado State University, and wrote on *David Barrow's Circular Letter of 1798*. Cunningham's attempt to show that the society, economy, and political culture of the United States in 1800 was not quite so static as it was rendered by Henry Adams in his magisterial "History of the United States of America during the Administrations of Thomas Jefferson and James Madison."
