I saw the movie first... probably a mistake considering the book is a classic. I thought the book was great - I really enjoyed reading it, I readily turned the page to see what would happen next... the plot was thickening and suspense building... and then... it ended. What happened at the end? What was happening to the women? Did it have something to do with the tape-recorder? I have no idea and I don't think I will ever know for sure.

No Hidden Messages
I read this book mainly to find out what the author was trying to say. Was this book a cry out to woman to liberate themselves or was it propaganda telling them their place was in the home? After seeing the original movie version many times I was confused, so I decided finally to read the book to pick up on any hidden clues or messages. I could find none. Instead I found an intresting book with a head scratcher of a closing. Though I would not recommend this to a friend because I doubt that they would enjoy it, I did.

Dark
This is such a dark and twisted book that most readers will fall in love. A few women notice how strange the wives of Stepford act and seek to prevent themselves from losing their idenity. This is a highly feminist novel. Comic, dramatic, and above all scary this book has all the genres rolled into one unstopable classic.
