Beston describes a year as observed from the outermost house on Cape Cod. That house has been swept away by waves and wind but in this book that year is revealed with great clarity for all time. You may not be an expert in any field of natural science but he never fails to explain with great clarity and never tells you more than you want to know about any of the natural phenomena witnessed. This book should never be out of print.
