Not as good as "The Nightmare Never Ends: ..."
In all, for its time, the book was okay. It covered up through Move 3 of the Nightmare on Elm Street series: Dream Warriors. However, that's where it left off, and it was never updated. For Nightmare on Elm Street fans, "The Nightmare Never Ends: ..." is a better review of the series, up through "Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare." Though even that compendium does not include the newer films "A New Nightmare" or "Freddy vs. Jason." Still, the latter book is the better of the two books.
This book is generally done in black & white, though there might be a couple of color prints in a small section in the middle (I don't have a copy right in front of me, so I don't recall off hand). Other than that's it's pretty average in terms of writing style, layout, etc.
If you're a completist, this book is obviously a must-have, and is considerably less expensive and possibly easier to find than the later book.
However, if you're looking for the best review of the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, try to find an inexpensive copy of The Nightmare Never Ends.
