The diversity in this case, however, is not necessarily a bad thing. As with many such collections, only single movements of pieces are included, not whole compositions. If you're brand new to classical music, be aware that listening to it in little chunks this way gives you only part of the story a piece has to tell. But the 16 selections included convey a surprising sense of the range of Mozart's music. There are some famous works that even listeners totally unfamiliar with Mozart might have encountered somewhere (the Piano Sonata in C major, K. 545, Allegro); there's the first movement of the serious Symphony No. 40; there are tossed-off occasional pieces...
