Original brown cloth textured and bordered in blind. Binding snug and contents complete and generally clean. About 1/3 of the cloth at spine is missing with the raminder split and chipped. Sewn spine sound; no loose pages or plates. Prior ownership indications of an old PA University library; small ink stamp to pastedown, a small pressure stamp in blind to the margin of the title page and the remnant of a card pocket at rear. All 11 plates present, including several folding maps and plans. Frontis has light damp line in margins; here and there some similar shallow damp line at the top edges. Should be rebacked but retians the larger lettered part of the spine cloth. Contents near VG. Howes S-112.
I hate the saying" if you like,,, you got to get this book." What I will say is. This book is a very important part of Braddock's Defeat". It does include much info that is not mention elsewhere. Print in 1858, Long out-of-print,, Now back!!! Great part of American history!
