Remarkable drama
Former silent film star William Farnum and Noah Beery star in this little gem. It has pathos, nuance and msystery as well. It is actually a B-movie ... in regards to cinema technique. It is definitely an early silent film on a budget. However, the script itself and the actors turn this into a minor-classic. Lillian Gish made her film talkie debut in "One Romantic Night" which was panned. This gem, "The Drifter" went along merrily as a double feature. It should be ranked higher and in the library of all film buffs.
