Isaiah's message has been received with mockery (28: 10, 14). He therefore retires to his house, and commits it to writing as an everlasting witness to the unbelief of his people. 8. Now that the message had been spurned (cf. 8:16-18). The it is the message, whether the substance of Chaps. 28-30 or more briefly the fine summary of it in 30: 15 f. Read, with margin, for a witness forever. 9 f. The law of Jehovah is instruction such as Isaiah had given (cf. 1: 10).
