This book held my attention throughout. It provides excellent detail but in a way that's not stuffy. The author brought the chara ters to life. The battle descriptions were in-depth and brought the reader into the action, but not through glorifying battle. It painted the character defects of the combatants and one can appreciate the happenstance or dumb luck that resulted in fantastic outcomes.
