The professor of applied physics Alan Adams during an experiment in which he amuses himself, along with five university colleagues, discovers the possibility to move items from one point to another instantly, with a tunnel created between two synchronized stations. This discovery could lead to a revolution in the transportation sector: no more trains, airplanes and cars, as well as in the tourism sector. The moment in which Adams realizes the significance of this finding, he rushes to warn his five colleagues and also his former teacher, Professor Tony Ross.But his five colleagues are nowhere to be found.One after the other they are kidnapped and an organization set up by an shady individual is getting ready to kidnap him too. Coincidentally, Alan avoids the kidnapping and begins to understand what's going on, he goes to the bank to withdraw money but the accounts are empty. At this point begins a flight through the U.S. during which the doctor, along with his girlfriend Sara Dixon, will escape ambushes and attempted murders until the final epilogue.
