Excerpt from Supreme Court of the United States, October Term, 1910: Standard Oil Company of New Jersey Et Al., Appellants, Against United States of America, Appellee, on Reargument of the Appeal From the Circuit Court of the United States for the Eastern Division of the Eastern District of Missouri Then the bill goes on, having through those allegations sought to establish that a combination in restraint of trade was the result, to allege various illegal means pursued through these years to effect a monopolization of the oil business, the control of pipe-lines, restrictive agreements, railroad rebates and discriminations, unfair competition - all of which are set out at great length - with the result, as the bill charges, that from ninety to ninety-five per cent.
