The program, on its surface, is the most conventional type of Spanish guitar recital, and Sáinz-Villegas, in his notes, offers the usual sentiments about representing Spanish culture, but those who dig in and listen will find that Sáinz-Villegas has gone beyond the norm. His program has some hits of Spanish guitar, like Albéniz's Asturias (Leyenda), but most of it does not consist of obvious items.
