The romance does not stop with Rawls; Enchantment, Heatwave, the Floaters and Natalie Cole round out an impressive list of ageless soul classics. As for the funk, the Bar-Kays bring the groove and they are in good company with Con Funk Shun's 'Ffun" and L.T.D.'s "Back in Love Again." Raydio's "Jack and Jill" and Brothers Johnson's "Strawberry Letter 23" sustain this collection with somewhat calming, mid-tempo numbers that could fill the void for a dance tune.
