And all listeners will find his Luonnotar with soprano Phyllis Bryn-Julson overwhelmingly compelling. With the technically superb and brilliantly colorful playing of the Scottish National Orchestra, Gibson's Sibelius recordings are arguably the best English Sibelius recordings between Barbirolli and Colin Davis.
