I K Taimni was a Professor of Chemistry in India, as well as an esotericist of stature. His English is a model of clarity and exactitude. He sets out each sutra from Patanjali's classic in Sanscrit, does a literal translation into English, and finally his interpretation in English. Because of his esoteric knowledge his interpretations of the sutras related to the highest states of samadhi are particularly valuable. The whole book is worth serious study.

Depth and clarity
There are many discourses on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Some are mainstream and popular. Others are not.
This one is a deeply probing commentary and analysis of the sutras from start to finish by an author who clearly has his stuff in order.
If your life is not changed by reading this book, you simply weren't paying attention to the message.
