Of all the many books concerning the exploration of the early west and the Mountain Man era that it has been my pleasure to read , this with out question is the best of them all ! Ruxton describes his amazing travels and experiences so videly that you are there with him. It is a shame that this wonderful talent died so young (age 27). The world lost a great writer. On a scale of one to ten, this book is a solid 15 !
