Rockin' the Blues was one of the last films to be specifically aimed at all-black theatres in segregated communities. Little more than a filmed revue, the story has something to do with a camp show staged for black GIs by New York deejay Hal Jackson. Foremost among the musical groups is The Hurricanes, whose production number about army life is a knockout.
