strong interest level
I read an article of some people who had started an orphanage in Haiti to keep children from being child slaves. This book was referenced, so I got it from the library. Now I want to add it to my library.
What I appreciated about the book was that it gave detail without emotional overload. Anyone who experieniced abuse as a child would know exactly how this child slave felt. Cadet is a very good writer, and I found the book hard to put down.
