Colonel Frank Rennie's 34-year military career (from 1937 to 1970) took him to the Pacific, Italy, Japan, Malaya and Fiji. He formed and trained the New Zealand Special Air Service Squadron which hecommanded for its two-year operational tour with the British 22 SAS Regiment in the deep Malayan jungle during the emergency.
