Good. 8vo-over 7¾"-9¾" tall 592 pp; Title page indicated publication in 1853. Faded fabric boards with gilt Illustrations and title, spine very faded, ends and gutters worn, front hinge cracking, corners worn and bumped. Previous owner's name in front endpapers, maps present but very delicate, light foxing throughout but does not impact readability. Book block solid. Frontis nice, many illustrations. Cover gilt illustrations still impressive.
