This reworking of an earlier presentation is the best summary of Peter van Dresser's work on simple buildings that heat and cool themselves without active systems. He was a fascinating man who struggled mightily in the environmental movement since the early 1930's. Heartbroken that the terms "green revolution" and "biotechnics" had been co-opted to mean agribusiness and genetic engineering (instead of respect for "biotic and other flow resources,") he devised the phrase "sustainable growth."
