Later, she begins to question his strange behavior, including his attempt to solve a local mystery by bunking down in a snake-infested graveyard. One night, a horribly disfigured local breaks into their shack and attempts to rape her, but she is saved by Goss at the last minute. Later Goss is attacked by a viscous dog, but during the attack the dog is horribly mutilated and killed by an unidentified creature. During Goss's recovery, he is treated by a female doctor who takes a shine to him and later seduces him. Afterwards, he becomes involved in a horrific scenario in his pursuit of the "creature on the hill."
