This excellent book is about George Bush, Sr.'s secret arrangement to keep the hostages in Iran in late 1980 for an additional 3-4 months to make Jimmy Carter look incompetant, so that Ronald Reagan would be elected. It worked. An organized cabal of individuals inside and outside of the elected government of the Unites States worked to conduct an alternative and private foreign policy with Israel and Iran without the knowledge of the Carter Administration. These people and groups thwarted the legitimate policies of the U.S. government and manipulated the electoral process, thus beginning the Reagan Revolution. This book should be required reading for any student of American history or American political science.
