Estonia's Neeme Järvi has been a prolific recording artist and a well-loved conductor in many countries, including the U.S. He has amassed a large body of recordings on several labels, so it's hard to capture the breadth of his legacy on a single compilation. Still, this one from Chandos is a strong consideration. It's a bit light on Järvi's championing of music from his native Estonia, although it does include a sample of the attractive and otherwise obscure Five Pieces of Heino Eller.
