The language used is simple, and the directions and experiments given are understood easily by the children. The teacher may modify any lesson here given, or even substitute a new one to make it fit better the needs and condi tions of the school. Very often the suggestions contained in a single lesson may be expanded with much profit into several lessons, the teacher placing an outline of the required work on the blackboard. Local interest, conditions, and familiarity with the subject, will determine the nature and amount of this work.
