Die Kulturmethoden wurden zum Nachweis bakterieller Indikatoren und ausgew???hlter pathogener Bakterien verwendet, n???mlich Escherichia coli O157: H7, Legionella spp. und Helicobacter pylori. Au???erdem wurde die PCR zum Nachweis von E. coli O157: H7 und eine Multiplex-PCR zum gleichzeitigen Nachweis der sechs ausgew???hlten Virulenzgene (flic, stx1, stx2, eae, rfbE und hly) eingesetzt. Es wurden einhundertf???nfundsiebzig verschiedene Wasserproben aus ???gypten gesammelt. Die Wasserproben stammten aus dem Nil (Rossita-Arm), dem Mittelmeer, aus der Kanalisation, aus Krankenhausabw???ssern und aus dem Grundwasser. Legionella spp. und H. pylori wurden durch Kulturmethoden auf Selektivmedien in 25 bzw. 33 % der untersuchten Wasserproben nachgewiesen.
