Major Sinclair had reached his thirty-fifth year he was tall in stature, standing over six feet, and Well proportioned, although of rather spare than robust frame, possessing fine manly features, with eyes expressive of a reflective and sedate turn of mind. Colonel Herbert had passed his fortieth year, and although not so tall, exhi bited much more goodly proportions than his friend, with a handsome countenance, rather florid complexion, and very dark brown hair, slightly silvered.
