Heart stretching in the best way.
I received my first copy of this book when I was 10 years old. I have re-read it many times, and in each reading it's charm and depth has held up and grown in stature.
Almost from the first page, you are transported to a time and place that depite it's hardships, you wish you could have been a part of. Set in the old west, it's the story of a boy who comes to be a man, and why he became such a good man. A wise man. Reading this book enriches the reader in a very lasting and profound way. It may be marketed as a book for young readers, but older ones will not be disappointed. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.
