This book is a winner! I loved reading it because it brought me into the author's life at an almost personal level. I read about her life, her family's courage and her love of family, friends, neighbors, and animals. I laughed aloud at times, and shed some tears other times. Sometimes the book kept me in suspense as I wondered what would happen next, how could things possibly work out. And, I must add - I greatly enjoyed the author's sense of humor. The book is very poignant as it tells about the family's life - their joys, their sorrow, and the many challenges they faced with tenacity so they could overcome. I loved the daily sayings and how they related to the author's daily events AND to events in my life. So between it all - the diary itself, the sayings, lessons learned, and the laughter and tears I experienced as I read the book, my life has been greatly enriched and enhanced. Its a great book.
