This big-screen adaptation of Land of the Lost stars Will Ferrell as Dr. Rick Marshall, a quantum paleontologist who has been discredited in the scientific world due to his strident belief in time travel as the cure for all of humanity's problems. You get what you'd expect from a Will Ferrell movie: a few laugh out loud moments, and a few painful-to-watch moments, but overall a movie that leaves you with mild giggles. We saw this one at home on dvd, and if I had seen it in theaters, I might have been a bit miffed for spending $12 on a ticket, but a cheap at home viewing was worth it. If you're looking for a "real" sci-fi adventure, this isn't it.
