This is an album of growing and new growth. A personal account that tells what it is to become a family, and all that it entails, without becoming so personal that the listener is lost. It does this without being soppy or overly emotional. It is an album that the reviewer, 50 plus years old and a never married male, could relate to. It is the feelings and guts of a human being and the experiences they had laid out in story form that anyone could relate to. This is done with a beautiful voice and feel that is at times reminiscent of Jesse Colin Young. As an added bonus there is some absolutely beautiful picking that at times reminds me of the best of Pentangle. It is a quiet album that opens on many levels to the listener. The craft of a true teller of tales is on display here, and many so called songwriters should listen to learn how to build a song.
