It is actually an address by the author upon his receiving the post of Professor of Semitic Philology and Biblical Criticism at Princeton, in May of 1900. It also includes a charge, or commission, to Rev. Wilson by Rev. Marcus A. Brownson, D.D.The second part is a short book called, Is the Higher Criticism Scholarly? He explains the claims made by others, and proves them false, of there being major problems with the Old Testament.Footnotes appear after each paragraph, since there are no pages in eBooks. The chapter divisions were added to aid in navigation in eBook format.
