The book is organized year-by-year and, within each season, individual-day notable events. Cleveland's professional/major league baseball team traces its history to the Forest Citys (186901875), the Blues (1879-84), the Spiders (1888-99) and its entry into the new American League in 1901. Over the years they have been nicknamed the Bluebirds (1900-08), the Bronchos (1902), the Naps (1903-14 after they acquired Nap Lajoie, and finally the Indians.
