There's nothing so adventurous about the program on this release by Britain's ten-voice Marian Consort, but you might as easily regard that an advantage as a disadvantage. Think of In Sorrow's Footsteps as a sort of introduction to the melancholy theme in Renaissance choral music, and you'll have a great time with the CD and enjoy the sounds of the Marian Consort, lush in spite of the group's small size.
