The Lecture Manual is a comprehensive outline for a rigorous human anatomy course that incorporates a combined systemic and regional approach to human anatomy. It is designed to present the student with the key words and terminology in a thoroughly line-art illustrated book, yet allow them to take notes and color code the illustrations to encourage participation in the learning arena as they attend lecture and learn from the professor. For the teacher of anatomy, the book offers a tailored, rigorous course, but provides the professor the flexibility to teach the material that they think is important and add their emphasis as they use the resource to fill in the gaps during the lectures they present to the students. In essence, the professor helps the student build their own excellent textbook as they participate interactively in the learning process throughout the course. Also included with the Lecture Manual is a link to download to software programs to study anatomy. The Interactive Atlas, which is an atlas of cadaver dissections to study and quiz yourself, and the Interactive Flashcards, which is a flashcard study to accompany the lectures. For the interested professor, outstanding software presentations can be obtained from the author, Mark Nielsen. Email him if you are interested: marknielsen@bioscience.utah.edu The Study Guide and Workbook is a thorough set of questions for the students to answer to assess their knowledge of the material that is covered in the Lecture Manual and accompanying lectures. These include a variety of questions from short answer, fill in the blank, labeling and color coding illustrations, etc. that are designed to make the students think and write out thorough answers. No multiple choice or true-false. Also included in the Study Guide and Workbook is a 3D model of a pelvis-perineum anatomy that the students build to learn this complex region of anatomy.
