This hymn book largely represents taking English language, old-fashioned hymns and translating them into Spanish. The tunes are not Hispanic, and IMO lack the beauty of many contemporary Christian songs. For most Hispanic persons' taste (IMO) you can find a much better hymn (or Christian song) book. And even though I am not Hispanic, I prefer to sing Spanish hymns using Hispanic style music.
Nonetheless, you are sure to find persons who like these hymns in Spanish. And for such persons, may they enjoy using this hymn book. Certainly this hymn book is better than nothing; mostly it does contain truth.
